Collectible Of The Year

In 1992 Zippo started a series of lighters that became known as the Collectible Of The Year. This can be quite confusing as 1992 marked the 60th Anniversary of Zippo and the first COTY was a single lighter to celebrate this fact. In the same year Zippo also produced a set of 6 lighters in a matching tin to the 60th anniversary lighter. In 1995 Zippo introduced the Mysteries of the Forest which was a set of four lighters, but added a companion piece of a single lighter, so which falls into the COTY category, and which falls outside?

In 1996 The Pin Up Girls came out with a single lighter along with a four lighter set companion piece.

The final anomaly is the 1999, Our Century. This is technically not a COTY, but as the tin and sleeve match the 1999 One World, I have included it here.

In 2005 Zippo issued a limited edition "10th Anniversary of the Mysteries Of The Forest" This was a design that was not used in the original series and again that lighter is included on this page for completeness.
