Base Stamps 1953 to 1955
One of the easier eras to date is the period between 1953 and 1955. All lighters from this period will have the "Full Stamp" pictured below. There are however two versions of this lighter that can help narrow down the year. The lighters made in 1953 will have a chrome plated steel case, whilst those made in 1954 or 1955 will have a chrome plated brass case.
The easiest way to identify the year of these lighters is to place a magnet against the case. Do remember to remove the insert first, as a magnet will stick to a brass case if the insert is still in place (The insert is stainless steel)
Lighters made in early 1953 were stamped with the 2032695 patent number. Details of these are on the pre 1953 page.

All inserts from this era should also have the full stamp. The stamping is single sided, with the reverse being plain.
